SATURDAY CLASS | Introduction to Floor Loom Weaving: A Cotton Towel
Instructor: Phyllis Narus, R&M Yarns LLC
With no prior experience, you will learn how to operate a floor loom and complete a functional and long-lasting cotton towel. All looms will be pre-warped with a natural, undyed cotton yarn. You will have several choices of cotton colors to use in weaving your one-of-a-kind hand or kitchen towel. All materials and use of looms are included in the class fee.
Saturday, February 1 - 4pm-6pm
Classroom 1
2 hours - 6 student maximum
About the instructor:
In 1996 I sat down at a pre-warped loom and wove a beautiful table runner. I fell in love with weaving with the first throw of a shuttle. For the next 4 years I took instruction from several master weavers around the country and Guatemala then began my teaching career in 2000.
In 2005, a well-known and successful yarn shop in Georgia became available for purchase so I began my entrepreneurship with R&M Yarns and moved it to a 5,000 square foot facility in Georgetown, TN. The shop offers weaving workshops and provides all types of weaving yarns as well as weaving and spinning equipment. Website: rmyarns.com
PLEASE NOTE: If you are attending a class, you must also purchase admission tickets to the festival. We can’t wait to see you there!
